During the summer month’s fleas become bothersome in the DFW area.

They are never easy to eradicate, but it can be done with your help.  Here's what needs to be done.

Regardless of whether you live in an apartment or house, it is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY that the steps below be followed:

1. Set a definite date for the exterminator’s visit.

Steps’ 2-7 should be done the day of treatment.

2. Remove all items from the floor except heavy furniture. Pick up all toys, shoes, clothes, etc., but DO NOT stack them on couches or chairs that have loose cushions, as this type furniture will need treatment also.

3. Vacuum the carpet thoroughly from wall to wall, concentrating on baseboards and behind Drapes.

  1. Now, dispose of the vacuum bag, as it will contain live fleas and flea eggs; i.e., get it out of the house!

  1. Remove all pets from premises the day of treatment. This includes fish and caged birds. This would be a good time to have your pet dipped.

  1. Infested pet bedding should be washed or destroyed.

  1. It is necessary that the home be vacated for at least 3-4 hours following treatment

  2.  If you have a pet, keep it dusted weekly with Sevin dust, which is labeled for this purpose     Purchase Sevin dust from any good hardware or garden shop.

  3. DO NOT vacuum carpet for at least 7 days after flea treatment has been applied.

If you live in a house with a yard, discuss with us the treatment for lawn and shrubs to control fleas. Working together we can keep your home flea free, but we cannot do it alone, and neither can you.
